6 September 2007. A non-descript building in the Syrian desert is destroyed during a midnight air strike by jets from the Israeli Air Force. Over the following days the governments in Tel Aviv and Damascus say nothing.
24 April 2008. The Director of the CIA states publicly that the destroyed building contained a reactor to produce plutonium for nuclear weapons and that Syria had constructed this building with help from North Korea.
He was wrong.
It was something worse.

A book I got for free recently.I dithered between giving it 3 or 4 stars.
There is some really good and some mediocre to it. In the end it got 4 stars because I enjoyed reading it.
There were bits and pieces I thought were over the top, but overall I enjoyed it even though some of the descriptions of military procedures and technology seemed a little "off" to me. I am not sure why either.
One thing I did not like was the continuing series of lucky breaks the protagonist got along the way that proved he was right and his old boss was wrong. The real world is not like that. You might get one or two lucky breaks along the way, but that is about all you can hope for. A story built around a whole series of them is tough to swallow for me.

Al Kibar eBook Malcolm Garcia Reviews
This is a readable story, the story itself was well put togeather but it lacked the gripping feeling feeling that ilike in my books.
The boss in korea is tipical of a person in a position of being in charge of a department that he does not realise the importance off. Or maby it was his ego.
Jumped around way too much and was very difficult to get into. I had to force myself into finishing it.
I am still readying this book but I really like it. Almost like being there myself sine I am a retired Military man.
This was a nice read. Enjoyed the authors style and mostly proper use of military terminology. Can't wait to read another, hopefully the sequel.
Couldn't get into this book, had nothing to keep my attention. Would not recommend for anyone looking for excitement or drama.
A thinking persons military intelligence story. The book is intricately developed with a sound storyline that winds it's way around the world. Very realistic in terminology and I loved reading snap shots of weapons capabilities and inventories, it gave a sense of authenticity not always common in spy novels. Views from different characters perspective sometimes challenging, was well done by Malcolm Garcia. I look forward to reading his next book.
Outstanding book!! Very realistic with technical accuracy and insight into military intelligence operations. With all that has happened over the past year with Syria, (as well as recently with Hamas striking at Israel) and Iran's stooges Hezbollah constantly popping their gums about what they will do to Israel....Really makes the book a realistic and plausible read! I highly recommend!
